Faneuil Hall Marketplace - A bustling hub since 1742, Faneuil Hall combines historic architecture with lively street performances, shops, and food stalls. Grab a bite at Quincy Market, then watch the crowds and soak up the atmosphere.

Boston held America’s first underground electric subway, the Tremont Street Subway, opening in 1897. 

Boston is the only state capital with an ocean shoreline in the contiguous United States. 

The city’s nickname of “Beantown” comes from the early settlers’ love of baked beans made with molasses, or “Boston Baked Beans”.

The Fig Newton was invented by Charles Roser, naming them after his hometown of Newton, MA.
