Green Up Vermont 2017

Join The Vermont Subaru Retailers On Saturday, May 6th For Green Up Day 2017!

About Green Up Day

The very first Green Up Day took place in April of 1970, and at the time was the only state-wide cleanup of its kind. The first year results were far beyond expectations. Over 4,000 trucks hauled off an astonishing 40,000 cubic yards of trash.

47 years later, the tradition continues! 22,000 people come together on the first Saturday of May each year to help remove over 40,000 bags of trash from Vermont's roadways and waterways.

The Mission

•    Promote the stewardship of Vermont's natural landscape and waterways
•    Raise public awareness about the benefits of a litter-free environment
•    Promote the livability of Vermont's communities

The Subaru Love Promise

The Subaru Love Promise is our pledge to do right by the communities in which we all live and work. We've signed it, and throughout New England, our retailers are doing the same! This is our promise to continue making a positive impact in the world and our neighborhoods.

So, What's Our Role?

To demonstrate our commitment to the Subaru Love Promise, Subaru of New England has been sponsoring and supporting Green Up Day since 2010 with an annual donation to help cover the cost of trash bags, supplies, advertising, awareness and much more.

In addition to our sponsorship and support in past years, Subaru of New England will be joining you and our 7 Vermont retailers to help clean up the roadways and waterways on May 6, 2017!

Get Involved At Your Local Subaru Retailer

All seven Subaru retailers in Vermont are playing their part. Each is an official bag pick-up/drop-off location, where you can enjoy refreshments, an afternoon BBQ, and perhaps get some free Green Up Day swag. Everyone at your local Retailer will be out there getting their hands dirty with you, helping to make Vermont greener than it was yesterday.

How Much Trash Was Collected By Vermont Subaru Retailers in 2016?

Thanks to everyone that chose to drop off their bags at one of the seven Subaru Retailers in Vermont, over 13 tons of trash was collected. That's over 26,000 pounds of waste removed from The Green Mountain State's roadways and waterways.

Can We Beat That Record In 2017?

Absolutely! This year we're aiming higher, and we need all the help that we can get. We hope to see you out there on May 6th!
